Ameron Job Opportunities – Senior Operations Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

• Designs, develops, implements and coordinates systems, policies and procedures
• Defining valid metrics and creating reports to monitor health of services and infrastructure
• Provides visionary and strategic direction for Digital disaster recovery including (but not limited to) site failover, application level failover, data center strategy and cloud initiatives
• Provides strategic recommendations to improve ongoing operations and maintenance of Ameren’s systems (OS, platforms, and devices)
• Troubleshoot system management, fault management, configuration management and performance management issues. Executing system health check & preventive maintenance task on different EMS/NMS
• Audits systems and assesses their outcomes
• Provides guidance to the team conducting audits and investigations of high failure rates, reviewing documentation and tools used to recognize trends around failure rates

Job Requirements:

• Working knowledge of database management or administration and source control
• Strong domain knowledge in OSS Platforms and Applications with hands-on experience in supporting and managing OSS Applications and Tools
• Experience working with Ericsson ENM and Nokia NSP platforms will be big plus
• Expert knowledge of the definition, design, and implementation of infrastructure and solutions
• Expert knowledge of at least one platform (e.g., infrastructure, operating systems, telecommunications networks, specialized systems administration) and working
• knowledge of others
• Expert knowledge of Ameren software applications to diagnose and repair problems
• Expert knowledge of current system administration tools and scripting languages

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in computer science or related field
• 7+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with Network monitoring protocols/methods such as SNMP, NetFlow, and Syslog
