Barclay Capital Careers – Custody Control Manager

Job Description:

As a Barclays Custody Control and Regulation Manager, you will be role 1 in a team of 6 people responsible for overseeing CASS Operational compliance for Global Market Operations and Tax Operations a total of £115m cash and £6.36bn client assets in custody. You will partner with and support the wider Global Market Operations department in any new regulatory change which may impact the departments CASS responsibilities, as well as ensure the department remains CASS regulatory compliant.

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintaining relationships with a diverse stakeholder population including Operations, Compliance, GMO, Business Leads and Regulatory Control teams
• Delivering the highest standard of service to internal and external clients against agreed SLAs
• Ensuring you uphold personal conduct in line with the Barclays Way
• Helping in evaluating regulatory risk within the department
• Identifying, escalating and reporting risks and issues
• Reporting directly into Glasgow regional Lead, Control & Regulation (VP)

Job Requirements:

• Proven ability to grasp business concepts quickly, proactive approach to solving issues focusing on regulatory impact / compliance
• Ability to engage with senior stakeholders (VP Level)
• Ability to maintain a reputation for integrity and quickly build trust with key stakeholders
• Detailed knowledge of 1 product family (Equity Settlements; Fixed Income Settlements; Futures & Options; OTC Derivatives; Commodities etc)
• Excellent ability to achieve quality results with a challenging but positive style
• High level of understanding of 2-3 functional areas of Market Operations (Trade Management; Settlement & Delivery; Asset Servicing; reconciliations etc)

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree level Education
• Proven financial services experience with Operational experience is essential; CASS knowledge is beneficial
