Comcast Employment – Sr Director, Data Science

Job Description:

As Senior Director, Enterprise Data Science within Comcast’s Analytics & Experimentation Platform (AXP) organization, you’ll work to define and execute the product analytics and data science strategy that ensures our organization makes the best data-driven product decisions, at scale. Additionally, your team will be responsible for the overall delivery of data and decision products for our Technology, Products and Experience (TPX) organization, ranging from curated datasets to insightful dashboards and AI/ML applications. In parallel, this leader is also responsible for building and maintaining relationships with internal clients from all business domains, keeping a tab on the data and insights needs of the business and helping to refine demand for data services. Through oversight of the product delivery relationships between the data team and product & business functions, you’ll make sure the data and analytics functions within AXP are delivering value to the business, including but no limited to, understanding the business needs and requirements, funding & budgets, measuring outcomes, value creation, and scaled delivery that meets the timelines and budgets.

Job Responsibilities:

• Partner with data engineering leadership to help ensure our technical data products enable business needs
• Help us answer some of the most impactful and strategic data questions as we grow and scale, translate the business questions into data questions
• Work closely with the executive team to define analytics strategy to support business goals
• Define and implement data management methods and techniques to achieve the necessary data quality objectives
• Manage and mentor a strong team of data scientists, product analysts, and product managers to ensure career growth and development
• Assist in definition of new KPI’s and metrics to ensure our product managers and executives have clarity into the definition of new features and their performance in the marketplace
• Be a thought leader on how we can best use data to achieve strategic objectives, closely monitor industry trends
• Create, define, or improve our existing resources for data catalogs, dictionaries, and analytics training necessary to help the Comcast technology organization make best use of product data
• Own our suite of reporting and analytics solutions and ensure fidelity of management through your direct reports

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of quantitative techniques such as regression, classification, forecasting, and clustering
• Manage for results, applying performance management processes to focus team on measurable results, promoting accountability at the team and individual level
• Knowledge of quantitative techniques such as regression, classification, forecasting, and clustering.
• Demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion through both words and actions, building an inclusive culture for the global analytics team and ensuring everyone can fully contribute and feel welcomed and valued
• Management skills to build analysis delivery plans with clear deliverables, ownership, and communication plans.

Qualification & Experience:

• Experience managing a mixed team of directors, managers, and individual contributors
• Experience in cutting through complexity to find the core problem and achieve the best solution
• 7+ years of experience in experimentation, including multi-variate A/B testing
• Experience leading and coaching presentations to large groups, including executive management
• 10+ years working in data and analytics, with at least 7+ managing, and leading a motivated data analytics team
• Experience leading and coaching presentations to large groups, including executive management
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as physics, electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or related disciplines.
• Experience understanding the balance between problems and constraints, translating into analysis
