Job Description:

We are seeking an Innovation Strategist who is passionate about delivering human-centered solutions for real-world, large-scale problems that impact the lives of our customers and employees.

The Innovation Strategist is a key contributor to the Delta Innovation team responsible for leading innovation initiatives, leveraging both internal and external partnerships, to accelerate Delta’s strategic advantage. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, is independent and self-directed, and able to collaborate with and influence a diverse team of individuals and stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

• Establish and foster relationships with a broad range of stakeholders to create the alignment and engagement needed to drive results
• Contribute to the team’s visibility, documentation, and process tools
• Work closely with designers, engineers, strategists, executive stakeholders, startups, and large tech companies to develop strategic visions for future products and services, and scope and develop prototypes that we can put in the hands of our employees and customers
• Lead initiatives by keeping working teams and leaders aligned on strategy, anticipating and persevering through obstacles, ensuring buy in and successful development, and jumping in to support your colleagues throughout
• Use data (new and existing) to propose and deliver innovative solutions that put the “human first” with a willingness to take calculated risks that challenge the status quo
• Benchmark airline, travel, and non-travel endemic experiences and best practices
• Contribute to setting expectations and promoting a fun, highly collaborative team culture
• Support the Innovation Team to develop strategy around which frameworks, technologies, and startups our team should use to build innovative products and services

Job Requirements:

• Independent, self-directed, able to progress with minimal direct oversight, and thrive in an environment where you’ll get to roll up your sleeves and figure things out
• A passion for emerging technology and transformational experiences and the ability to nerd out with your colleagues over them
• Strong track record of achieving challenging objectives and executing initiatives across a wide range of products with tight deadlines and ambiguous problem statements
• Love travelling and can deeply empathize with our customers
• Deep expertise in design thinking, innovation, and product development
• Understand of technology and the ability to uncover market trends, gather information from a wide variety of people and resources, and translate unclear signals into actionable business strategies

Qualification & Experience:

• 3 or more years previous experience in corporate innovation, business strategy, product management, consulting, or a client services role focused on innovation, technology, and/or design
• Experience developing and showcasing innovative and creative visions that center on the human experience and tie back to business objectives
• MBA or advanced degree in business, STEM, psychology, design, or equivalent experience
• Experience and comfort communicating challenging concepts in a variety of formats (written, verbally, in presentations, via wireframes and prototypes, etc.) to a wide array of audiences, making recommendations and presenting to executive audiences, and forging relationships in both startup and corporate environments
• Bachelor’s degree in business, STEM, psychology, design, or equivalent experience
• Experience developing products, services, or in a startup
