Job Description:

As the Operational Risk and Controls Assistant Vice President, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining control frameworks designed to manage regulatory monitoring, surveillance, employee compliance, and transaction monitoring.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage the implementation of the department’s operational controls strategy by driving, designing, and implementation of our operational control framework around continuous assessment of our control environment
• Hear from our people and look inside our office:
• Own the execution of independent reviews of risk events, regulatory change implications, identifying root causes, reviewing robust remediation plans, and engaging with the Business lines for operational risk. Challenge operational control weaknesses (raised from audits or other sources) and providing advice to the operations business lines for sustainable risk remediation options arising from weakness, errors, and external event demands
• Establish and maintain effective governance on operational risks, covering the risk appetite, risk metrics, risk monitoring, and governance reporting which enable a positive risk culture and drive behavioral change

Job Requirements:

• A high level of interpersonal communication and change management skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders, providing support and coaching to them in their role in the change effort
• Strong knowledge of market regulations, compliance practices, and risk. Sound understanding of internal and external control, compliance, and risk frameworks
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to think laterally around issues, proposing solutions where required
• Relevant experience within Wealth Management Operations with a focus on Banking, Investments, and Brokerage businesses, most notably operations or middle office and working closely with Operational Controls
• Experience working with global teams; ability to work independently to high standards
