Foot Locker Hiring – Staff Accountant

Job Description:

Foot Locker is looking for a dynamic and motivated Staff Accountant to join the Retail Payments team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for providing executive accounting information while generating monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounting processes for Foot Locker, Inc. and its subsidiaries globally.   As a Staff Accountant, you will also be responsible for providing weekly reports, reconciling accounts, and performing variance analysis to ensure financial accuracy.  This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about finance and is looking for a collaborative, fast-paced position!

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform analytical reviews and variance analysis for balance sheets and income statements
• Provide support and analysis for annual budgets and weekly forecasts
• Provide support to Foot Locker divisional finance and operations teams
• Ensure results are fairly stated in accordance with GAAP and internal policies
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Adhere to and enhance internal financial controls
• Prepare detailed balance sheet account reconciliations
• Prepare and post accurate journal entries into the financial systems
• Prepare and present accurate, well supported financial analysis and reports

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Detail oriented with ability to understand the whole process
• Experience with and/or knowledge of PeopleSoft a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products (i.e. Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
• Strong verbal and written communication analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills
• Must be willing to work extended hours during peak periods
• Demonstrated experience working independently as well as in a team environment
