Job Responsibilities:
- Assist production in planning labor allocations for mix and line speed changes
- Analyze production and non-production operations to resolve those requiring study and develop new or improved methods and standards
- Display strong customer orientation with a commitment to upholding plant processes through strict adherence to the Quality Operating System
- Recommend most efficient distribution of personnel and review daily employee workforce, analyze plant methods and standards
- Conduct time and motion/MODAPTS studies and review employee proposals and suggestions
- Conduct Job Ergonomics evaluations
- Prepare or advise the preparation of cost estimates of new or revised methods and standards
- Review proposed changes in plant layout, processes, material handling, routing, etc.
- Analyze problem process constraints and conduct equipment cycle time analysis
- Conduct continuous improvement mapping and process audits
- Collaborate with Production Supervision and the UAW to settle job disputes
- Act as a strong and confident technical mentor to the production organization (both hourly and salary)
- Develop cost saving project proposals and write projects as the need arises
- Drive development and/or installation of direct and indirect labor standards and methods. Track labor, efficient workforce utilization and line balancing
Job Requirements:
- GSPAS knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- A history of implementing and achieving results, while organizing and managing multiple priorities
- Validated ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly through route cause analysis and inspire change back to the production departments
- Successful leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
- Demonstrated participatory approach to union relations
- Work in a multi shift environment that includes afternoons, nights and weekends
Qualification & Experience:
- One or more years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
- MODAPTS Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering
- 3 or more years of industrial or process manufacturing engineering experience
