Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist production in planning labor allocations for mix and line speed changes
  • Analyze production and non-production operations to resolve those requiring study and develop new or improved methods and standards
  • Display strong customer orientation with a commitment to upholding plant processes through strict adherence to the Quality Operating System
  • Recommend most efficient distribution of personnel and review daily employee workforce, analyze plant methods and standards
  • Conduct time and motion/MODAPTS studies and review employee proposals and suggestions
  • Conduct Job Ergonomics evaluations
  • Prepare or advise the preparation of cost estimates of new or revised methods and standards
  • Review proposed changes in plant layout, processes, material handling, routing, etc.
  • Analyze problem process constraints and conduct equipment cycle time analysis
  • Conduct continuous improvement mapping and process audits
  • Collaborate with Production Supervision and the UAW to settle job disputes
  • Act as a strong and confident technical mentor to the production organization (both hourly and salary)
  • Develop cost saving project proposals and write projects as the need arises
  • Drive development and/or installation of direct and indirect labor standards and methods. Track labor, efficient workforce utilization and line balancing

Job Requirements:

  • GSPAS knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • A history of implementing and achieving results, while organizing and managing multiple priorities
  • Validated ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly through route cause analysis and inspire change back to the production departments
  • Successful leadership behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated participatory approach to union relations
  • Work in a multi shift environment that includes afternoons, nights and weekends

Qualification & Experience:

  • One or more years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)
  • MODAPTS Certification
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering
  • 3 or more years of industrial or process manufacturing engineering experience
