Job Description:
Employees in this position are responsible for continued development, implementation, and administration of the environmental, health and safety programs for Trans Bay Cable. The successful candidate will execute the programs and policies, oversee and evaluate new requirements, ensure training of team members, conduct inspections, lead audits with regulatory agencies, maintain appropriate records, and promote an active culture of safety and environmental compliance in alignment with federal, state and regional agency requirements. This job is responsible for supporting the development and administration of safety/health policies, programs, and work practices that comply with safety/health regulations and prevent employee injuries and illnesses. Employees in this role advise management on matters which affect conformance to current and proposed OSHA Safety/Health Standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance on all safety incidents and events
- Administers safety/health training programs required for employees to perform their job responsibilities safely
- Ensures compliance of all contractor safety related activities
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Assists in developing and enforcing safety rules and standard operating procedures
- Provides guidance on the completion of the Detailed Incident Analysis Report
- Supports all Distribution Joint Safety Committee activities
- Provides technical guidance to departments on occupational safety/health
- Provides support to the Union through the Joint Safety Committee to bring about improvements in safety/health
- Ensures the completion of all OSHA mandated training
Job Requirements:
- Valid Driver’s License (NON CDL)
- Ability to meet attendance and storm duty requirements
Qualification & Experience:
- Certified Utility Safety Prof (CUSP)
- Master’s Degree
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
- Experience: 5+ years
- OSHA 30 Hour, General Industry Course
- Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
- High School Grad / GED
