This Administrative Specialist position is located in Human Capital (HC), Enterprise Support (ES), Professional Responsibility (PR), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and tracks administrative actions, and reports for completeness, and responsiveness to ensure commitments and milestones are met, and delinquencies are identified.
  • Provides advice and guidance on office programs which may be sensitive, controversial, or may require expediency.
  • Prepares sensitive and routine correspondence, such as memoranda and other forms of written communication and performs a variety of sensitive and confidential assignments.
  • Reviews and analyzes existing policies and procedures, identifies potential problem areas, develops plausible solutions, and initiates recommendations for new, revised, or modified administrative policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for processing, recording, controlling and filing all administrative action items for travel requests, etc.
  • Serves as a main point of contact for questions regarding administrative processes, and procedures for records management related to program office.

Job Requirements:

  • You must have reached the minimum age (18) at the time of application.
  • You must possess U.S. Citizenship or be a U.S. National.
  • You must complete a favorable Background Investigation (BI).
  • Selective Service registration is required.

Qualification & Experience:

  • To qualify for the SV-H Pay Band (equivalent to GS-12), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-G or GS-11 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as: Applying administrative management techniques in order to assess the effectiveness of program operations; AND Identifying and presenting proposed changes to administrative practices, policies, and procedures; AND Preparing statistical and/or administrative reports and regulatory guidance pertaining to all administrative matters.
  • To qualify for the SV-G Pay Band (equivalent to GS-11), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-F or GS-9 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. OR Achievement of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a field of study which is in or directly related to this position. OR Three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. OR LL.M., if related. OR Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education, beyond the second year, and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for this position
