Job Responsibilities:
- Provide Team communication and recognition
- Responsible for monitoring day-to-day production processes, Draw panel formability, last hit process, contamination investigation
- Optimize throughput in accordance with budgets and cost objectives
- Identify and ensure that safety hazards and unsafe practices are corrected and addressed
- Build Team Leader and Team Member capability
- Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities/tasks
- Lead skilled trades/die maintenance personnel to evaluate Die Readiness requirements for maintaining and improving production yields, output, and up time
- Support Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) and coach problem resolution to the lowest level
- Supervise preventative maintenance schedules, inspections and repairs to minimize down time
- Coordination of maintenance activities with other plant operations
- Determine and correct root cause of related downtime issues
- Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work
- Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents
- Coordination of Safety Operating System activities including overhead safety, lifting and rigging and Energy Control and Lockout procedures
- Coordinate and schedule manpower and materials to meet maintenance requirements to minimize down time
- Ensure start-up readiness for production
- Understanding and expertise in draw die forming, maintenance of beads, trim steels and pierce operations
- Meet FTT, inventory, cost, scrap, supply and tooling expense targets
- Assist and teach die maintenance troubleshooting techniques to improve mean time between failure and mean time to repair
- Ability to coordinate major and minor die repairs
Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and constraint management principles
- Proven interpersonal and leadership behaviors
- Validated ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Strong organizational, multitasking and administrative skills
- Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)
- Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
- Work in a rotating shift environment including nights and weekends
Qualification & Experience:
- 2+ years of experience working with major automotive die forming
- HS diploma or GED
- Demonstrated experience managing a unionized workforce
- 3-5 years automotive experience Body shop/stamping/subassembly experience preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree or completion of Die Maker apprenticeship
