Job Description:
As a Stewarding/ Sanitation Team Leader, you are responsible for organizing and coordinating all cleaning and sanitation activities. The scope of work includes Back of House & Store areas, ensuring all production and service areas remain free from contamination and bacteria at all times and are in line with HACCP guidelines.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supply chemical items to all locations as requested to support operations;
- Allocate cleaning tasks and responsibilities to the sanitation team, monitor and following up on work results to ensure a high standard of work delivered by the sanitation team;
- Assist with training of all associates in proper and safe use of sanitation equipment, chemicals and procedures.
- Remove and replace equipment as needed to accommodate production set-up requirements;
- Control and record breakage of all small ware, chinaware and glassware to provide monthly breakage report and ensure all damages are captured;
- Conduct inspections in storeroom area, ensuring all equipment, small wares, crockery and cutlery are washed within the stipulated time and as per hygiene guidelines;
- Inspect and monitor the housekeeping and cleanliness of facility restrooms, break rooms and common areas, ensuring equipment and facilities are clean prior to the start of operations;
- Conduct daily shift briefings to sanitation staff in order to share valuable information to staff on a daily basis;
- Daily inspection and evaluation of cleanliness and physical condition of facilities, maintaining records and submitting reports to supervisor for necessary actions;
- Prepare order and consumption report of chemical items, compile proper documentation & records of cleaning material stocks and monthly inventory check to ensure sufficient equipment is available for the team to carry out daily activities;
- Monitor pest control schedules in all locations to ensure schedule has been properly followed with outsourced pest control contractors;
- Communicate & coordinate sanitation issues and activities with supervisors, ensuring all issues are escalated and resolved within minimum working days;
Job Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English language.
- Knowledge of different cleaning chemicals and machinery
- Ability to control costs in chemicals and disposables
- Supervisory skills in prior jobs is desirable
- Computer literate (MS Office)
- Knowledge of HACCP guidelines and procedures
- Basic interpersonal skills and the ability to perform a full range of physical tasks including some heavy lifting
- Knowledge of basic firefighting and first aid procedures
Qualification & Experience:
- Previous experience with a structured hygiene environment, working to international standards
- Relevant Vocational, Tertiary or Trade qualifications. Additional trade certificates or relevant training certificates are highly preferred.
- Airport experience is preferred but not essential
- Excellent hygiene, health & safety knowledge and experience
