Job Description:

Xcel Energy is seeking a data science intern who is ready to apply their strong critical thinking, modeling, and data visualization skills in Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP), enabling the company to meet current and future organizational goals.

Job Responsibilities:

• This is currently a remote/work-from-home position with expectations of occasionally working out of the St Cloud, Minneapolis, or Denver office.
• The candidate is expected to work around 15-20 hours a week during academic periods, with the ability to work additional hours during non-academic periods.

Job Requirements:

• Applying appropriate statistical techniques to data exploration
• Have prior experience using simulation software
• Familiar with R
• Entering Junior year or greater
• Able to collaborate in a team environment

Qualification & Experience:

• Pursuing a degree in STEM, Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Statistics, or similar technical program
• A successful candidate has experience in Influencing others using creative data visualization techniques
• Have prior experience in or a willingness to learn natural language processing (NLP)
