Job Description:
The PDL manages overall delivery of the hardware and software elements used in the verification of flight electronics, flight software and flight systems.
Job Responsibilities:
- Finalizing requirements documentation
- Architecting and developing the JPL Compute Element I&T (Integration and Test), Motor Controller I&T, Flight Software Testbed, Mission System Test bed and ATLO (Assembly Test Lunch Operations) test configurations
- Interfacing with SSE customers/end-users
- Ownership of the following responsibilities:
- Finalizing V&V (Verification and Validation) plans and procedures
- Maintain inputs to the REC/DEL (product deliverables and receivables) system
Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated knowledge of processes that are used to verify/validate the design requirements of systems
- Experience within a multidisciplinary system engineering or test team
- Understanding of the proper application of JPL design principles, flight project practices, hardware-handling constraints, and the JPL risk management practices
- Experience in testing of systems, including test planning, test procedure development, and data analysis
- Demonstrated skills in designing, implementing, and testing electronic hardware or instruments that are used within complex space systems Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Qualification & Experience:
- This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science with a minimum of 12 year of related experience; or Master’s degree in a similar discipline with 9 years of experience.
- Previous experience in performing V&V utilizing system level test beds
- Understanding of JPL product development and delivering process
- Experience with cost and time estimation
- Good understanding of system engineering and development process
- Previous experience in Avionics and/or System Testing
- Project, program or product management experience
