Job Description:
In this role the Director – Upwise Content Editor will design and deploy an end-to-end content creation process, including research, writing, editing and publishing. In addition, the Director – Upwise Content Editor is responsible for creating and managing the editorial calendar, contributing unique story ideas aligned with business (product roadmap), content priorities, and user feedback. The Content Editor will also manage the production and review process for Upwise content, including all aspects of copywrite and copyedit content processes. The Content Editor will work closely with the Upwise leadership team to ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for user experience and engagement. Additionally, the Content Editor will collaborate closely with compliance and legal departments to ensure editorial content is approved for use pursuant to agreed-upon guidelines and within production deadlines.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain and audit content inventory to identify gaps, evolve taxonomies and optimize for user impact
- Analyze performance of content across Upwise, compiling monthly reporting for internal and cross functional stakeholders, using data and insights to inform and optimize future content creation
- Design an appropriate and flexible resourcing approach, including attracting talent, building direct, matrix, and project teams, and identifying and managing external partners
- Manage relationship with our external content development partner(s), assigning freelancers to content requests and preparing briefs for content creation
- Manage production and review process for Upwise content, including all aspects of copywrite and copyedit content processes
- Create and manage Upwise editorial calendar, contributing unique story ideas aligned with business (product roadmap) and content priorities and user feedback
- Partner closely with Content Strategist, writers and Marketing team to ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for user experience and engagement
- Serve as intake for Upwise content needs and requests, developing strategies and solutions for content delivery
- Collaborate closely with marketing team on strategies to integrate app content into ongoing web and email customer acquisition and adoption campaigns/activations
- Closely monitors market intelligence on financial wellness products, market conditions, competitors and solutions for developments, best practices and strategies to inform future Upwise content development and production initiatives.
- Serve as an evangelist for content best practices across user journey and marketing distribution channels
- Plan, document, and maintain foundational Upwise editorial policies for stakeholders including editorial guidelines (article style and construction, sourcing guidelines, editing process, etc.), editorial design, and content governance
- Design and deploy end-to-end content creation process, including research, writing, editing and publishing
- Work with compliance and legal departments to ensure editorial content is approved for use within production deadlines
- Support MetLife Sustainability strategies, including DEI initiatives, leading on Upwise content-related projects and programs
- Manage freelance copywriter(s) in production of content, and direct designers on production of creative content in line with editorial calendar
- Partner closely with Content Strategist, Marketing and other partners to develop content strategies for evolving Upwise editorial content around applicable user personas; writing, editing, testing and continuously optimizing materials for user impact

Qualification & Experience:
- Experience working in a content management system (CMS); prior exposure to Adobe Experience Manager a plus
- 10+ years of related work experience in US insurance or financial services industry
- Experience with freelancer, vendor and/or agency management partnerships
- BS or equivalent from a top ranked institution; personal finance background preferred
