Job Description:
Postholders will work as thought leaders and change leaders and will be comfortable influencing and delivering change at a range of levels. They will work across a complex strategic landscape, defining appropriate programme governance, driving commercial activities as well as directly managing programme and delivery teams. They will be highly resilient and will be able to maintain enthusiasm and generate momentum in the face of a shifting landscape and priorities. Postholders will be passionate about making a difference for the staff and users of the justice system. They will understand how to navigate the challenges of large complex organisations to drive change and deliver added value through data transformation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Developing business cases and negotiating funding for delivery
- Making the case for change and for data improvement at senior levels across CJS departments
- Identifying and implementing the most appropriate commercial approach, to bring in partners to support delivery
- Owning the programme strategy, comms and stakeholder plans
- Supervising and matrix managing workstream leads in other parts of the programme delivering different components of the portfolio
- Acting as second-in-command to the Programme Director in leading the delivery of the Data Improvement Programme across the CJS
- Building links and connections across the justice system to drive a coherent and joined up data service
- Managing a programme team of approx. 8-12 people
- Managing a programme team of approx. 8-10 people
- Direct accountability, leadership and delivery of strands of the programme’s delivery portfolio
- Acting as second-in-command to the Programme Director in leading the delivery of the Data Improvement Programme across the MoJ

- Owning the ‘all up view’ of the data programme, managing dependencies and spotting gaps and opportunities
- Overseeing the programme’s Project Management Office
