Job Description:
The Radar and Science Engineering Section in the Communications, Tracking, and Radar Division conducts research, development, and flight missions in the field of airborne and space borne remote sensing radar for NASA and other government agencies.
Job Responsibilities:
- As an RF Microwave Engineer in the RF Radar Electronics Group (334A), you will be responsible for the design and development of highly complex and significant RF system architectures for spaceborne applications.
- You will be given the tools to develop unique methods for performance evaluation in the design of RF components and circuits that are highly complex with significant impact to Radar instrument missions.
- In this role, you will partner with other engineers to design and test RF circuits and assemblies and apply understanding of the discipline to develop requirements and verification methods.
- You will also define, coordinate, balance and integrate technical and programmatic requirements in an end-to-end manner to ensure that the RF circuits and assemblies satisfy the customer’s requirements, expectations and constraints within the allocated resources and with acceptable risk.
- The selected candidate will lead the development of analysis, simulations and tests to verify RF system functionality which may also apply during the integration and testing of RF subsystems and radar instruments.
Job Requirements:
- Experience with the following RF test equipment: Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, Pulsed Power Meters and Oscilloscopes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface well with other engineers, and vendors.
- Understanding of the full hardware cycle from design and simulations to testing and validation.
- Knowledge of design/data analysis tools such as Advanced Design System (ADS), Altium, PSpice & Matlab.
- Ability to understand the principles, theories and concepts of RF and Microwave frequencies.
- Ability to perform analyses and trade studies and to write technical documents that conform to a prescribed style and format.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of related experience; Master’s degree with 1+ years of related experience; or PhD with minimum 0 years of related experience.
- Excellent ability to work well in a team environment.
- Significant skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Experience with Microwave Office, Python, Genesys, Microsoft Project.
