Job Description:

As Manager e-Commerce, you will provide leadership on a strategic and commercial level to continuously drive and improve online sales performance, maximizing revenue contribution to exceed revenue targets and ensuring long term growth. In addition, to follow up on key online developments within the industry and keep abreast of the latest technical innovations in the field of online sales to enhance and improve the customer experience, which exemplifies the 5 star Qatar Airways ethos .

Job Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with senior management to establish a clear pricing strategy for online channels.
  • Developing and establishing an e-commerce strategy, which includes leading the online Sales strategy across network including all tactical and strategic digital channels.
  • Ensure the e-commerce strategy is aligned to the wider commercial strategy, enabling a profitable and customer-centric omnichannel experience.
  • Ensure comprehensive online sales plans are implemented across all regions geared towards exceeding all online sales KPI’s. Ensure all E-Commerce and E-marketing units are in synch with the online sales objectives of the company.
  • Ensure governance processes across the Group are developed, in order to build and enhance the capabilities needed to share data and learnings.
  • Ensure comprehensive sales plan is implemented, geared towards exceeding all online sales KPIs
  • Ensure all eCommerce and e-Marketing units are in synch with the online sales objectives of the company
  • Ensure integration across the QR Group and continuously evolve the proposition through an agile ‘test & learn’ approach to optimise sales (online and offline), as well as customer experience. Lead the E-commerce strategy to deliver the highest possible % share and therefore contribute to reduce the distribution cost of sale.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent team player at senior management level motivated by achieving success for the team
  • Good network within QR and travel retail industry.
  • Proven understanding of E-Commerce within the travel retail industry
  • Managerial skills – Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate’s skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
  • In depth understanding of the retail industry and it’s specific sales, marketing and distribution mechanisms.
  • Strong retail business understanding.
  • Knowledge of the latest industry trends across online retail and online travel.
  • Fluency and accuracy in English language.
  • Solid knowledge of core retail IT systems and applications.
  • Proven Commercial skills and business acumen.
  • Strong people management and coaching skills.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Previous e-commerce experience with a retail environment
  • High School / Vocational Qualification with Minimum 9 years of job-related experience
  • Commercial management experience with significant revenue accountability
  • Knowledge and previous experience of online sales and marketing technologies.
  • First-hand experience of key direct sales channels
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 8 years of job-related experience
  • Strong retail oriented digital knowledge and experience
  • Strong Ecommerce sales knowledge and experience.
