Job Description:

An exciting new opportunity has arisen in Sefton Council to appoint a 36-hour permanent Cemeteries Officer/Relief Crematorium Technician. The role sits in the Burials and Cremations Team, within In House Operational Services based in Thornton Garden of Rest and Southport Crematorium. This is an exciting time to join the management team of the Burials and Cremations Team at Sefton as the service is now on a journey to become more digitally friendly and provide a more modern funeral service to the people of Sefton and surrounding areas.

Job Responsibilities:

As part of the team in this role you will be responsible for visiting each of the service sites including all 4 cemeteries in Sefton and ensuring that all burials are undertaken to the highest standards in line with the FBCA code of burial practice. As a cemetery officer you will be tasked with ensuring cemetery safety is always monitored and any issues reported to be resolved immediately.

Job Requirements:

This role also includes a requirement to be a relief cremation technician to cover holidays and sickness when required and full training of this element will be provided.
