Join our Facility Solutions team in this highly visible Business Development Director, Facility Solutions, Vertical Markets role. The role is focuses on prospecting and closing new Facility Solutions program business (JanSan/EVS/Breakroom) to specific Vertical market customers. Target customers and prospects for this role are typically members of large Commercial Consortiums, Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), and/or other named targets within defined industry verticals.

In this role, you will be responsible for the aggressive pursuit of targeted enterprise Vertical Market opportunities within an assigned geographic region or territory. You will prepare for consultative engagement with prospects through diligent and thorough research, demonstrating knowledge of prospective customers’ industries (Healthcare, Strategic Accounts, Building Service Contractors, or other Key Vertical Markets) and specific business issues and challenges facing them.

Job Responsibilities:

In this role, as a BDD, you are a self-starter who builds an internal and external network that enables client success and identifies new target clients, following through on leads from a variety of sources. You will work closely with and collaborate with all levels of the Staples Sales organization to achieve stated acquisition goals. You will provide guidance on RFPs/RFIs; pricing strategy; and legal agreements. You will collaborate with manufacturers and vendors on market trends, targets & new products. You will engage customers including, but not limited to building customer facing presentations; preparing pricing proposals including profitability analysis; engaging in customer meetings/presentations. You will attend and work trade shows and conferences, when approved. You will dedicate yourself to on-going continuing education in the JanSan / EVS / Breakroom space. You will collaborate with all stakeholders to develop strategic acquisition and pricing to differentiate Staples from competitors. You will communicate regularly and effectively with Staples Field Management and Field Sellers in order to participate and contribute strategies for winning new customers and increasing profitable sales. You will build and maintain superior relationships with our various external business partners. In addition, you will develop long term and short-term acquisition strategy by prioritizing opportunities within defined territory.

Qualification & Experience:

  • 10+ years related experience working with large, complex sales opportunities
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years related experience working with large, complex sales opportunities
  • Proven industry experience and connections
  • High School diploma
  • Business & Leadership experience
