Job Description:

This position will direct Asian Initiatives Sales Team comprising multi-segment broker/agent managers to achieve Employer & Individual, Medicare & Retirement, and Community & State net growth targets through employer/member acquisition, engagement and retention in Asian American communities in core and expansion markets nationwide.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Business Development to drive business growth and implement Asian sales and service expansion to new markets
  • Participate in product and benefits designs capitalizing on in-depth understanding of customer needs and competitive landscapes
  • Lead team to migrate all Asian groups in NY and NJ to migrate to the new Polaris system platform
  • Achieve Medicaid sales targets through Asian Medicaid General Agents and agents for Essential Plan, Medicaid and Child Health Plus products
  • Connect with Health Plan CEOs and senior Sales Management to ensure alignment of goals and objectives
  • Develop and launch member retention initiatives
  • Achieve Commercial sales targets through Asian broker distribution channel for both Small Businesses and Key Accounts, including fully-insured, self-funded, level-funding, association health plans, Global Solutions and Ancillary products
  • Achieve retention targets through key account management and dedicated group services
  • Direct team to recruit and develop Asian brokers to market our portfolio of products in the Asian communities
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Business Development, Community Outreach, Provider Relations, Customer Services, Member Loyalty and Retail Operations to plan and execute on growth plans and various projects
  • Initiate, maintain and enhance relationship with various stakeholders in the communities we serve
  • Achieve net membership growth target, both in acquisition and in retention
  • Build a strong team of competent staff through talent development and by offering continuous guidance, support and coaching
  • Collaborate with marketing team on promoting our products and services
  • Adopt portfolio selling approach to maximize growth opportunities by cross-training brokers to distribute products for all business segments and all lines of business
  • Devise strategies and lead sales and service teams to drive membership growth
  • Exercise management and leadership for the continuous improvement of the broker and customer experience through relationship building and high-touch communications
  • Develop new sales channels/ initiatives to support sale

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to conceptualize and articulate ideas and constructs
  • Ability to lead multi-functional teams to seamlessly implement projects and initiatives
  • Ability to devise long-term business strategy and short-term tactics
  • Ability to recruit, educate and motivate brokers/agents and agencies
  • Ability to bring assignments and projects to successful completions

  • Ability to build, develop and lead a competent team of sales professionals
  • Ability to cast and sustain positive leadership shadows
  • MS Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to laser-focus on “blue chips”, not letting urgent issues to crowd out important matters
  • Bilingual in at least one Asian language: Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese or Hindi

Qualification & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience supervising, coaching and mentoring a team of professionals
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare industry
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of sales, business development and/or marketing experience
