Job Description:

This position serves as the Business Owner leading the Digital Experience, B2B & B2C Marketing/Communications, Concierge Member Call Center, and NPS results for California’s Commercial Health Plan. The role is a member of the health plan leadership team and will work collaboratively with the CEO, COO and CFO to ensure overall strategies are aligned with the market level business objectives. It serves as the local market leader driving Provider Aligned Go To Market sales and marketing strategies and materials for high performing networks and Products in California. This includes Joint marketing efforts, B2B, B2C assets, microsite development and management, and open enrollment materials and implementation. This work includes joint development and implementation with external provider partners, and as such is an external and internal facing role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct/utilize market/competitive analysis to drive understanding of local market opportunities and requirements to drive strategy
  • Ensure aligned experience among provider partners
  • Partner with local and functional teams to assure appropriate health plan messaging of benefit design, value-added services and provider partner capabilities
  • Identify & implement strategies based on research/NPS results
  • Implement tracking & reporting of returned welcome calls. Evaluate results over time with new reporting
  • Development, review and approve of processes, scripts, reports, marketing & communications tactics, creative & messaging, etc.
  • Develop and execute a Marketing and Communications plan for the Commercial Value Product offerings to support growth goals and member retention in California
  • Evaluate Performance and metrics of marketing efforts and adjust as needed
  • Manage and uphold accountability for marketing, sponsorship and outreach budgets
  • Drive messaging, communications to support expanded market share in designated market by developing solid relationships across segments and departments (Network, marketing, clinical, quality, finance)
  • Serve as the Provider partner/matrix partner leadership contact
  • Conduct Strategic planning and develop Go To Market Plans with Provider Partners
  • Develop and implement provider engagement strategies (including Field-based approaches and face to face visits Providers) in partnership with Network partners that specifically focuses on membership growth and retention and making UHC the insurer of choice
  • Must be able to flex strategies to address local market nuances and unique requirements to assure that we are keeping healthcare “local” featuring our provider partners while maintaining a strong presence in the market
  • Assist in developing new geography/product opportunities

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Solid background working with C-suite leaders
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role.
  • Proven track record developing and deploying successful marketing strategies/tactics

Qualification & Experience:

  • 5+ years leading sales/growth teams
  • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams to achieve outcomes
  • Master’s degree (MPA/MBA)
  • Experience utilizing excellent presentation skills
  • Managed care experience
  • CA Market experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Marketing and communications or similar role in the Commercial space
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience using analytical skills to conduct competitive analyses, ROI or cost/benefit analyses, prepare plans, forecasts and budgets
