UPS Hiring – On Road Supervisor

Job Description:

The Flex Part Time (PT) On Road Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily performance of service providers to ensure quality service, improve performance/maintain compliance with environmental, health and safety requirements. He/She encourages sales leads’ participation through maintaining mutually beneficial customer relationships. This position utilizes technology to identify opportunities for performance improvement and risk mitigation. He/She communicates with customers to respond to service concerns, builds relationships and determines solutions that meet business goals. The Flex PT On Road Supervisor performs other tasks as requested.

Job Responsibilities:

• Determines employees’ training needs to produce continuous development plans
• Works with service providers to maximize day to day proficiency and ensure packages are delivered in a safe, timely and professional manner
• Reviews and analyzes work processes/work schedule information (e.g., exception reports, volume delivered/hour, miles driven, car set up, hours worked, accidents, etc.) to identify opportunities to reduce cost
• Develops and maintains working relationships with local union officials to promote positive labor relations
• Uses the Balanced Scorecard and Quality Improvement Process to monitor workgroup performance against business goals
• Resolves individual/group performance issues in accordance with UPS’s policies and procedures foster teamwork

Job Requirements:

• Demonstrates an understanding of the functions, regulations and procedures of compliance agencies or governing bodies
• Knowledge of small package operations – Preferred
• Displays knowledge of common tools, equipment and technology used within the operation
• Identifies root cause of injuries/auto crashes and reporting unsafe working conditions
• Understands ways to identify and measure the current needs of the customer or business
