Job Description:
The primary purpose of this position is performing work involved in Natural Resources Planning and Environmental law compliance, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Management Act (NFMA).
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with natural resource specialists to obtain, compile and analyze information used in formulating specific components of program and project plans.
- Ensure National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents are in conformance with applicable law, regulation, and policy.
- Write environmental analyses, assessments, and environmental impact statements.
- Develop plans for specific area or accountability (i.e., water, soils, habitat management, etc.).
- Assist others in the development and processing of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents.
- Instruct project staff on the plan standards and guidelines related to the unit natural resource management proposal.
- Analyze environmental data to measure and evaluate the effects of management proposals on natural, social, or economic resources.
- Conduct environmental studies and evaluations concerning a variety of resources, such as social economic, land, air, water, timber, recreation, wildlife, fisheries, and/or additional special areas.

- Successful completion of one year probationary period, unless previously served.

Qualification & Experience:
GS-0101: Degree: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor’s or higher degree that included a major field of study in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position; OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field; OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
