Job Description:

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard, Training Division, Aviation Technical Training Center Mobile Training Center Mobile, in Mobile, AL.

The position is responsible for developing instructional materials related to operating procedures, aircraft hardware systems, and avionics or aircraft software.

Job Responsibilities:

• Developing the instructional analysis, paper-based instructional materials, accompanying support materials such as workbooks and instructor guides.
• Creating detailed instructional analysis to identify Terminal Performance Objectives and Enabling Objectives.
• Creating course lessons and materials.
• Generating and modifying multi-media and computer-based training under the assistance of the Systems Analysis Specialist.
• Creating new master instructional plans and modifying existing plans and conducting task analyses for the training programs.

Job Requirements:

• This position requires a Secret clearance.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Qualification & Experience:

• Degree that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled.
• GS-12: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.Examples of specialized experience include: Designing a training program/instructional system; developing policies and procedures for administering a training program; implementing a performance improvement system; conducting studies to measure the effectiveness of instructional programs; designing automated performance systems; utilizing computer based technologies to develop and deploy multimedia/distance learning training programs; and maintaining contacts with internal and external training practitioners/experts.
