Job Description:
Contributes to development and implementation of regulatory, legislative and business strategy on issues related to electric transportation, including on issues related to industry structure, economic and environmental regulation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Advance state and federal government policy strategies in energy, environmental, regulatory and other areas the Company.
- Develop corresponding corporate policy and strategy recommendations and position statements, obtain internal input, prepare management presentations, and secure senior management support for policy and strategy direction.
- Coordinate with key business units in the process of evaluating and executing policy, regulatory and business strategies.
- Communicate (written and oral) regularly with management and internal customers to ensure awareness of current regulatory and legislative issues that impact the company.
- Work directly with management to develop and promote regulatory and legislative policy positions.
- Coordinate participation in regulatory rulemaking activities and direct preparation of written and oral comments.
- Coordinate with key business units in the development and launch of new initiatives.
- Support and advocate Xcel’s position with regulators and stakeholders in a variety of formal and informal forums
Job Requirements:
- Experience with customer product development related to clean energy and transportation preferred.
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills required.
Qualification & Experience:
- BA/BS in political science, public policy, environmental science, engineering or related field.
- 7-10 years or equivalent experience in public policy and/or utility industry, with preference for experience with regulatory filings and dealing with clean energy and/or electric transportation related issues.
